" Creativity " a medium of motivation and inspiration

Sigmund Freud often spoke of a psychodynamic view to understanding creativity. He stated that "creativity arises as a result of frustrated desires for fame, fortune, and love, with the energy that was previously tied up in frustration and emotional tension in the neurosis being sublimated into creative activity." Freud later retracted this view.

Whatever your view on the subject, his is definitely an interesting theory which made me ponder further.

Right now, more than ever we are searching for creative solutions and ways to make our lives more meaningful. We have an opportunity to be creative during these challenging times and to find deeper purpose in our lives.

There somehow appears to be an innate desire in each of us to find a sense of purpose, a form of self expression in our lives. Part of that expression for each of us comes in a variety of formats; such as a painting, a book, a music composition, a poem,  a fabulous meal, a new business idea, there are plenty of ways.

We are all creative in one way or another, we need to find out for ourselves by 'scratching' beneath the surface, delving deeper to discover who we are, and what our lives mean to us. On that journey we can find truth, beauty, and the peace of mind that comes from a healthy dose of inner struggle or self analysis
.
Sometimes the act of creating something really special or beautiful can inspire us to care . Yet, we still have to make that first step in caring enough to get to the act of creating, so you can imagine what a cycle this can become if we don’t pay attention to, or have some kind of support in our lives.

When people grow old, they no longer work, they may lose their sense of purpose in living or their sense of place , this can at times lead to withdrawal, can give up and perhaps die prematurely. Maybe it’s because they don’t feel like they matter anymore. It would be great to find the creative urge throughout your life that helps you to reconnect with what makes you matter in life.

But more than that you have to decide to matter. You have to decide that what you do every day matters. And once you get to that place you have achieved success. Real success.

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." Albert Einstein.
